Maintenance Policy Changes?

I'm just curious about the 2009 models that are soon to be released.

Will the free maintenance period be the same for 2009 models?

As someone who loves the MINI lineup (I have a 2006 S, and had a 2004 Cooper), I've noticed that BMW has changed their maintenance policy for the 2009 MINI models. Where the warranty period is still 4yrs / 50,000 miles on the MINI, BMW has changed the free mainenance period to 3yrs / 36,000.

I've read a lot about how BMW is losing money on this free maintenance, and they've changed the policy on the MINI line.....Is this a harbinger of things to come for the 2009 BMW's as well.

Anyone?

nope. still 4yrs/50k. but really doesn't matter. you will get like 1 extra oil change and 2 wipers. worth no more than 200 bucks. you should still buy extended service anyway, because brakes are expensive. I will need mine around 60k
