Many variables - was the hood open or closed? Any air going over the left front nose of the vehicle or just over the lower and kidney openings?

I'll ask AFE for a larger dyno graph file.

The vehicle could have additional mods on it that would attribute to a higher HP/TQ gain. Typically, stock vehicles will only get about 2-3hp gain off of an airfilter install. I've NEVER seen a huge jump of HP when stuff like this is installed on a car.

BTW, your butt dyno will only feel mods that are 10hp or more increase.

Maybe I'm still new to BMW mods. But a close to $600 pricetag is alot for a filter and baffle.

I'm still skeptical about the numbers in the ad...seems like a lot for a piece of metal with a cone filter on it.

I wouldn't be surprised if you lose power. Drive the car around for an hour, then dyno it. I bet you will lose power due to heat soak. It is not a truely sealed intake system.

I concur.
Aluminum plates do a great job of absorbing heat. Heck, feel your firewall braces, they get pretty warm too. If you have a STB like myself, the tower bar gets warm and you can feel the heat being drawn into the car's chassis.

Imagine using a metal heatshield made of aluminum and painted black.

And for the price, you could have the Dinan intake and Dinan ram air scoop.
