Hi,

I've been searching around like crazy, and I keep finding mixed information regarding the iDrive version of European 2009 model year E92's. I myself am preparing to order a 2009 E92 335i, but I'm quite keen on getting the correct iDrive version.

I usually look in the BMW.de configurator, and strangely the configurator seems to show the old iDrive version in the car images? It shows the new iDrive version for the E90 in the configurator. I'm hoping they just haven't had the time to update the images :-/ Also, when I look at the description for the iDrive on the E92 it shows the description for the new iDrive. I'm confused!

The 2009 facelift happens on the E90 first. I don't think the E92 gets a facelift until later, unfortunately... (Maybe mid year?)

I'm not talking about the facelift. I'm only talking about the new iDrive system.

At least for Canadian models, I have confirmation from BMW headquarters in Germany that the 2009 e92 335 will get the new iDrive (my vehicle is scheduled for week 37 production).

It might just be for Canadian models. I put in my US spec 2009 335i Coupe order in germany and the dealer tells me there are no changes to the car. I kept asking and told him I keep seeing different stuff on the internet and he's still telling me no new iDrive. Which is why I dropped the iDrive from my car..

Check out this link, it says ALL 3 series gets the new iDrive...my CA didn't even know that Logic 7 was now a option for the 335 until i told him.

Mine didn't know either... It sucks that I have to spend an additional $1100 or whatever the invoice price will be for that option.

That's what I like to hear!

Obviously I'm gonna have to confirm this with the sales guy before I make my decision. I'll have him put it into the purchase agreement that I will get the new iDrive. This is absolutely crucial to the buy, and I'm not taking a new car with the old system.
