Chestnut Brown
Chestnut brown is listed as a new color.
So new, in fact, that I cannot find a visual of it anywhere. Any help?

Chestnut (or red-brown) is an additional interior choice--it does not replace Saddle.
Here are some admittedly preliminary example images from the BMW DE configurator: Chestnut Leather: Saddle Brown Leather: Likely best to get a look at them in person if you can wait. --LR

Thanks for the reply, but....
I thought the same when I visited the German configurator, but I haven't had anyone over there confirm it. The rotbraun or red brown MAY or MAY NOT be the same as our Chestnut Brown. If the past can be used to project the future, the German colors usually translate fairly directly to the English. In this case, Chestnut Brown would be Kastaniebraun in German.

Ah, very well--didn't know if you'd seen that. The folks over at Bimmerfile seem fairly convinced that the color depicted there will be the "chestnut brown" in the U.S. market. You'll likely need to await either the U.S. "build-your-own" configurator or actual shots to obtain the level of assurance you're seeking. Likely not wise to order a new interior color sight unseen, but that's effectively where we are.

Here we are, two weeks from start of production and the US still doesn't have the configurator, brochures, or the pricing! WHY?

Seriously, this is quite annoying. I was told it would be configurable on BMWUSA.com in Mid July. Here we are a month later and we don't even have pricing. I hope they have good reasons for this. I believe they are waiting for the .9% financing promotion to finish before they release everything.

It is disconcerting.
I'm about ready to order another make...can you spell Audi? Hopefully someone from military sales can help us out with the chestnut brown. I really don't want something that looks like chocolate brown in the MINI. No pricing or interior photos or other detailed information. Dealer is "guessing" at what the packages might include for U.S. market. Maybe they just don't want us to order a car and take whatever the marketing folks want to sell us off the lot. Thanks for the input, folks.

i placed an order on an 09 e90 (montego with chestnut brown) and find it very annoying that we basically have no details about this car.... i am taking a risk with the leather and i dont know how much the car is gonna cost, my production date is the first week of september and i thought by now i would know the specifics or atleast be able to make a leather and paint selection that included seeing the new colors..... btw, whats up with all the hype of new A4s interior.... its nothing special and i find it much less attractive than the bmw 3s

I, too, have an order in for September production but it's all hinging on the pricing and option selections. Logic 7 is now a separate option, removed from the Premium Package. My CA put it down on the order with the price of the option that is shown for the 328i ($1200) but also the 2008 price of the ZPP. Seems to me the ZPP should drop considerably with the separation.
I chose Montego and black. If they had a darker gray I would have chosen that; the current gray is simply too light for my tastes. Having said that, though, if the Arctic were still available I'd have chosen the gray with Arctic. Any brown with too much red in it doesn't cut it with me, even if it were coupled with the Barbera Red.

Montego is really BLUE. That said, medium-dark brown & red-brown are difficult to work with blue. Beige is fine, Saddle looks great (I think it will go best with a dark wood trim), Black and Gray are safe. Chestnut is the riskiest -- if you like Terra & Montego, it will probably be fine. When you put two colors of similar darkness/density together, they need to match or complement each other. It's easier to get a light & a dark color to work together.

I have saddle and it looks nothing at all like that picture, so I would be worried about how close the chestnut picture is - saddle is much darker!

I went with black leather to go with Space gray on my 09' order for the exact reason that I couldn't get any good pics of chestnut brown...I know I won't be disappointed, but BMW has definately been slow getting info out on the 09's...
