E92 Facelift?
To me the e90 facelift seemed pretty dramatic for something that happens during mid cycle.
With that said......How likely is the e92 going to receive a mid cycle facelift? If yes, do you expect it to be as dramatic? Historically, is this something that happens to all past 3 series coupe models? |

Considering that most of the sheetmetal remains the same in the E90 update, the changes are not that dramatic. To the average Joe on the street, the updates will not be noticed.
For the E92 update, you can expect similar changes. Like LED turn signals front and back, extra hood and bumper creases, improved i-drive, etc. At the 3.5 yr mark for a BMW model, you can bank on a LCI.

i spoke with a friend of mine. he works in regensburg, at bmw plant there.
they think, they will release the facelift version of e92, in september-october 2009 ... the back of the car will be wider .... and I don't remember other improvements he told me ... I don't care too much since my e92 will come in no more than one month ... so I wait for my car and don't care for new version .... Always new versions of the same thing will come on the market... so If we wait for the newest version all the time ...... what we get ?? nothing, because we wait..... |

I get a lot of compliments about my E90 LCI from other luxury car drivers (MB, Audi, etc). This includes compliments from a guy who used to hate BMW styling, and two car dealership salesmen from MB and a few other car salesmen from other car companies too.
What they seem to love: wider wheelbase, LED's, redesigned tail lights, and the curves on the hood and the bumper makes the car look wider, faster, and more aggressive. We're all biased towards what we own because it's our baby. No one says their baby's ugly - every parent will say their kid is cute. So even when the next gen 3 series comes out and it's really awesome, I think a part of me might even say it's ugly because I own an older gen 3 series. So to each their own, but the E90 LCI is really getting good styling reviews from people who used to hate it. That should say something by itself. Given the directly the E90 LCI went, I think the E92 LCI would look awesome. |

The eyelid is definitely part of BMW's design language so I have very little doubt that they'd refresh the E92's headlights. There's really no reason besides cost that they wouldn't do this.
