It would be a marketing tactic to get buyers to pick up the last models if they are impatient to get the next gen.

Isn't the lack of integrated amber blinkers the thing that's preventing this from coming to the US?

M Sport kit

I have researched the M sport kit over here in England for the US 335i and was told the only difference with the M sport here over the 335i is the body kit which can be ordered here, along with the M steering wheel and different wheels 193M. I will be traveling to the US later this week and will visit a BMW dealer to see what they have to offer for the 335i to decide what I want to buy for my 335i next year.
If you visit: http://www.bmw.co.uk
you should be able to see what is offered and they will ship to the US.

Hope this helps some,

RaileR

Difference that i know of:
1) body kit (front/rear/side-skirts)
2) m door sills
3) m steering
4) alacantra headliner
5) perforated leather handbrake
6) m wheels (17" std, 18" optional)
7) always has oil cooler regardless of wheel choice

i do know that the e90 msports has stiffer suspension/anti-roll bars than the sports package in US, but not sure about e92.

It is not hard to drill on an orange reflector. Look at the M3, that is a less attractive reflector than the original 3s side bumper reflector. It looked like BMW did a last minute design IMO.

The e92 in New Zealand has the sport suspension too...it is 15mm lower than standard.

To see what New Zealander's get in their Motorsport models..

It is just criminal that the USA dealers paranoia about getting stuck with oddly optioned cars has prevented us from having the M-sport option. I have high hopes that Reithofer can work out a distribution system that will give USA and CDN markets more open access to option choices.

I won't buy another BMW without the M-sport. [because I'm so happy with my current 335 that I have slowly been getting M-sport stuff for...]

Incidentally, we need more photos of the 2009 M-sport cars.

No can do.

While I was in Germany I visited a BMW dealership to get the part #'s for the all the parts included in the M-Sport pkg, but when I got back to the US I found that the only parts you can order are the sides, rear, and window trim. Fuck that. Go buy those parts from Tischer and you'll be saving sooo much money.

The front doesn't comply to DOT regulations therefore you can't order it through any dealership. BMW won't allow it. All other performance accessories can be ordered though.

I believe you can buy these in canada. We need someone to go up there in a uhaul and buy 5 or so, im sure the buyers will be willing to give deposits before that somebody goes to get them. Anybody live a hop away from canada willing to do this? Hell, mark them up $150 each.

^ Good luck trying to get them back into the States. They have those border patrol stations for a reason, you know.

Huh? Ok, I'll play along. You said:

Which lead to me to believe that you wanted to buy the kit from Canada (or five of them) and transport them down into the US. Explain to me how you're going to convince border patrol that you're getting the work done in Canada when you have a UHaul full of unpainted car parts that don't meet US regulations?

Edit: Ok, I see now that you never explicitly said that the items should be brought back into the US. So you're saying to buy these in Canada and then... ?

...or you could just drive to Canada, get the work done, and drive it back. They'll only check your car if you're importing it in. For all they know, you could have been going on a vacation or a wedding.

Yes, true; however, what I was responding to was the notion that you could do some kind of group buy on Canadian supplied M Sports and get around US laws (which in this case, I fully admit are a silly pile of crap, but that's beside the point).
