Any X3 M owners going to be adding the black competition parts to their cars?

I’m wrapping my grill and sides, as for badge going to paint , not going to put comp badge on it

Same, I just won't put the COMP portion on. Not trying to fake it or anything.

And is there a way of changing the front grill and side fake breather badge 'X3M' lettering to black font from the shiny chrome look? Seems overkill to have to replace the entire grill and the fake breathers just for that. I don't mind the small tri-color aspect.

I've been tempted to use 1000 grit sandpaper to lightly buff it, and if needed add BSM touch-up, but there has to be a more reasonable way to change that shiny font to black, in a more professional way.

Thoughts?

This might be your best shot .

I have never bought the product but the cost to play is reasonable. I think the grills are the same size.

Buying black grill surrounds, side vents, and mirror caps will end up being about $700. I was thinking base X3M plus the blackout trim makes sense but now that I've crunched numbers I don't think so. For my X3M base build (21" wheels, M-seats, paint) if I add $700 over 36 months, the lease payment difference is only about $34/mo to go with the X3M Comp. For $34/mo I'm gonna have to go with the comp and get the better exhaust, more power, and not even have to bother with swapping trim bits.

Thanks arciga18. As I have the X3MC I already have all of the black trim but am looking to just try to black out the chrome-look of the X3M badges on the front grill and fake breathers (make it more like the black X3M font of the rear end). Not sure why they didn't follow that theme throughout all of the badges in the Comp version. Almost tempted to order a badge in the chrome to practice on to see how lightly sanding it with 1000-1500 grit, then buffing it might look. Don't have the confidence in how it will turn out to ruin the ones on the car!

IND will probably be working on this.

I’m looking to purchase black/cerium take-offs from a non-comp. Is it cerium or chrome? I can’t say for sure from the pictures.

This was kind of what I was hoping to achieve. It's just a minor distraction but would be nice if an easy fix were available for those wishing to make the front and side badges match the black font elsewhere.

Any updates on this case?
Black badges for front and sides? Are these easy to change? They are self adhesive?

Hey Max Well - Old thread, but did you ever black out the badges?

I agree with your artist rendition....

Blacked out badges is the way they should have come from the factory
