cylinder misfire question
so I've had the same 2009 328i for going on 8 years now and every so often if I have to floor the gas after taking a turn I get the check engine and it's always due to a cylinder misfire. At first I thought it was maybe the plugs or packs so moved the plugs to different cylinders and also replaced the plugs during my last routine maintenance. I'm starting to wonder if when I floor it there isn't enough air/fuel mixture due to dirty injectors (I've never cleaned or added anything before) and it causes the misfire. once I turn off the car and turn it back on everything is normal again till my next random need of pressing the gas hard.

I had a similar problem a year ago. Turned out to be an ignition coil. Yours may be different... but I've had a similar misfire under heavy throttle in a F150 and it was an ignition coil too. YMMV.

I guess it could be but I did replace all 6 probably 3 years ago so think they would still be good. I'm planning on moving on from it mid next year so may just ride it out as it only happens 1 time every 5/6 months so not a common thing.

Started looking into this again recently and thought maybe it could be the fuel filter but it seems the E90 series filter is integrated with the pump. Can anyone confirm this?
