Ordered my X3 M non comp in July from F85Matt (thanks for a great client experience) and took delivery today. Traded in 2018 X30i xLine and kept 2015 M3 6MT. This X3 M is a really special ride for those like myself who want the ground clearance and X3 size but want a performance vehicle.

Acceleration: I'm not noticing any delay or lag very quick in Sport Mode. Very well controlled compared to M3

Braking: Excellent; discs look good with the 20s

Interior: Merino M sport seats are excellent

Ride: Perfect not too firm with 20" Pirelli P Zeros in Sport Mode

Sound: Good in non comp would say it's about 80% as deep as comp; did not purposely try to get the deceleration burble yet

Pics attached on some non comp things ...

Loving it, congrats!

Wish there was a 20" wheel option for the Comp. More grip, less weight, and easier to shop for tires.

Thanks. I drove the X3 comp model a week ago and remember it being deeper sounding.

I'd say the non comp sounds 80% as good as comp.

I believe the comp has some functionality and appearance exhaust changes with different rear silencer and flaps in addition to the black exhaust tips

Thanks. What about exhaust burble?

Would you say the diff in sound is similar to what it was between f8x base and f8x comp? I am wondering whether stock/non comp S58 sounds better than stock/non comp S55?

I haven't been able to get the exhaust burble fast acceleration and deceleration because I'm not trying to rev it high as it's only got about 30 miles on it.

Yes exactly a F80 non comp sounds about 80% as good as a F80 comp.

Got it, thanks.

I wish BMW would offer 20" wheel option for comp model. The only thing is that stock tires are way too narrow. Are you planning to put wider tires (at least in the back)? The rim might not allow you to go above 265 or 275.

Great question. At this point I don't know what I'm going to do but I NEED safe cold weather tires in the next month or so.

Options I'm thinking about:

oBuy and mount performance all seasons on stock wheels
oBuy and mount snows on stock wheels and
oBuy new wheels and summers

If it works anything like the F8x you don't need to quickly accelerate/decelerate. Simply driving along at city speed and letting off the throttle while in sport or sport + throttle modes will have the exhaust burble. It will be noticeable and hard driving is not required. This is only for competition pack cars though as base models do not have burbles as part of the engine tune.

I saw anon comp X3 today in Toronto red and think that I would go with this version from a cost perspective.

Did you ever replace the chrome bits?

The exhaust tips is the main thing that would bother me.

I haven't yet. The grill and side vents bother me most. I'm probably going to keep the chrome exhaust tips. Really like it though. Been on two road trips already need to get those miles in for break in service.
