How does DTC work?
Has anyone found any technical discussions regarding DTC/DSC and how it works? I'd like to better understand what the hell I am enabling/disabling when I use this feature.
I'd also like to understand why tuners and bmw like to avoid engaging DTC at lower rpms/speeds I *have* searched |

Ok so it goes something like this... You drive like crazy around corners.. then the back slides, so the DTC goes "wow dude.. slow down", but you kind of don't so the DTC starts panicking and says to himself..."DON'T FREAK OUT... WE CANNOT HAVE ANYONE FREAK OUT"... so the engine goes.. "wow man what is this guy doing???" and the DTC goes "I don't know man but I am gonna shit my pants" so the engine says "ok don't panic I am cutting this bitch out".. so then then the rear brakes are like "hey, what's all the noise" the DTC says "man we gotta do something about this... I've been flashing my light at the mother...er and nothing" so the brakes say ok man don't worry we gonna take this guy down.
Ok what else you wanna know?

Hands up who things 'gimp2x' should be banned?
Not only for asking this rediculous question, but also for bullshitting about searching.

I read the threads he posted, only one of them mentions "softening of the ignition/fuel map"
some people say that the differential is electronically controlled some people say the transmission "torques down" some say the brakes are locked, but only one wheel at a time some people say that I haven't searched If the only thing you have to post is ridicule or criticism of my question, I'd rather you not |

To pretty much everyone above.
DTC/DSC is ALWAYS on. Push and hold to turn entire system off. ***Do at your own risk. I am no responsible for any incidents that occur by disabling the system.*** |

When one or more wheels slip, or the car veers off your intended path, DSC/DTC responds by (1) braking the individual wheels that are slipping and/or (2) reducing power from the engine. The computer determines which of these interventions to use depending on which wheels are spinning and how serious the problem is. Watch the video: [u2b][/u2b] That's it. There is no magic. There is no softening of the fuel/ignition map (I don't even know what that means). There is no "torquing down" of the transmission (I don't know what that means either). The brakes don't lock (you have ABS after all), but they may be applied. All of this was in the threads that canucklion pointed you to. Do you have a more specific question?
