M Seat Belts

Sorry if its been asked before but had a search and cant find any info on it.

What is the story with the M Seat Belts that are missing from every x3/x4m i have seen so far. It is listed on my build spec sheet but am guessing when i pick it up on Monday morning it will be missing the M seat belts?

Is it a mistake or where the early cars spec’d to come missing the belts?

I did get the comp model....it gets delivered to my front door next week 10/8 - 10/10. It's a wait and see I suppose. I don't see that code on my build though (S4GQA M Seat Belt) I did get every option offered except drivers assistant plus...

On ordering in late June I was told that M seatbelts were only available from WK36 (02-SEP-2019) so I asked to delay my build week to WK36+ to get the M seatbelts as I think they look great. My dealer then told me the build slot had been brought forward to WK22 (12-AUG-2019) but would come with M seatbelts as they knew of my requirement. Sure enough they were on the car.

This was for a European spec car, but as these all come form the same factory in SC I don’t think this would be any different for non-Europe cars. Unless they did a special build for me – which I doubt given the automated nature of the assembly line.

I had assumed this was a supply issue – but shame on BMW for not having these from day 1.

I was also told that if you have M seatbelts you could not spec [431] Luggage compartment separating net so other than aesthetics, is there something physically different about M seatbelts I wonder?

I had to come into work tonight but will get pics in the daylight tomorrow.

Noticed the seat belt pulls you in as the car drives off, don’t remember the demo car doing that so maybe the M seat belts are more than just a visual difference, feels like it pre tensions on you.

My G01 M40i pretensioned the seat belts at takeoff. It's normal across all the X3s now.

Ah ok, thanks for the info. Must just be purely cosmetic then. I do think they look good.

Here is a pic of the M seat belts in my car. I quite like the pre-tensioning of the seatbelts - its like getting a little "hug" from the car every time you pull away.

Any thoughts if BMW would retrofit those that missed these in production?

These look great.

Side question does everyone's rear seat center seat belt buckle go all the way down in the rear seat spot so it's completely flat?
