Headphone recommendations

I did not order the rear seat entertainment package.

I do have every intention of installing 2 Samsung tablets, and the necessary BMW mounting equipment though.

I would "like" for both my kids to have wireless headphones..... but in order for them to be wireless, they need to be able to charge somewhere. I absolutely will not be able to stand headphones just "lying around" the car. They need to be stored in the rear center armrest when not in use.

While my wife and I enjoy the B&W stereo.... I want my kids to enjoy "whatever" they are watching.... quietly..... without interruption. LOL

1) Does the rear center armrest have a USB inside it that I could charge wireless headphones? Or would it be better to just get old-school wired ones?

2) What are you using.... that can be stored in the rear center armrest. Without having access to the car, it's tough to interpret how "big" of a pair of headphones I can fit in there is.

There is a very small compartment in the rear armrest but it’s so small in terms of its depth you wont get any headphones in there at all. In fact you’d struggle to store anything in there, I don’t know why they bother with it!

I also have no idea why they bother with that area, it’s a complete waste of time!!
And also the charging points for gadgets in the Beck is also a let down

It is about 1" deep 7.5" wide and 9.75" long.

My suggestion, Mount the tablets to the back of the seats, using either BMW OEM gear or aftermarket versatile ones. Leave the tablet plugged into the back of the seat via the USB C.

Buy double sided sticky headphone hooks, place that next to the tablet (if all seat backs are the same its hard plastic there). Keep a USB from tablet to headphone OR use the USB C from back of the seat as needed. Or if you go wired they don't need that power at all.

Thanks Tenac..... 1 inch deep huh? Jeez.... that doesn't leave a whole lot of options other than earbuds. And no charging port in the armreat either.

No way am I hanging headphones inside my car. They need to be "put away" when not in use.

So.... I need to go with old school wired headphones. I suppose I can just get the type that came with a casio walkman back in the 80s..... they'd probably fit in the center console. Just seems silly to go with something that "low tech".

I'm still looking. Thanks for the info though. That actually helps a lot.

Might be able to stuff them in the back seat pocket too. that stretches and is a large enough for almost any. Get the swivel hear types though, because they go as flat as possible.
