Tyre Pressure Settings

Hey everyone…

Wondering what tyre pressure you guys inflate your X3 M40i tyres to?

The tyre pressure guide indicates 35psi for rear and 32psi for front on a normal load.

The tyres are 275/35 R21 (rear) and 245/40 R21 (front).

I was surprised to find both front and back inflated to 37psi from the Dealer.

Appreciate your thoughts.

Mine are 37/38 all round too. Came like this from dealer

I inflate them to whatever the tyre pressure monitor menu tells me to at the current temperature.

I go 1-2 psi over what the computer recommends. This allows for the computers not to give warnings when the tires are cold. It takes a good 20min of driving before they reach the max psi.

Essentially I'd rather be 1 psi over than 1 psi under.

Very often wrong from dealer, just go with label values or idrive

I use the manufacturer label on the B pillar located on the driver door frame.

The staff at the dealers pretty much just go round the car using “typical” values and certainly do all 4 the same. It’s often out of spec for the tyres so I always correct afterwards.

It’s lazy, but at the end of the day they are just workers doing what they consider a mundane activity.

Same here. I believe these settings are lower than what the infotainment recommends, but same as what's in the owner's manual.

Hmmm mine at the 21 inch individual rims and tyres are at 44psi...
