Changing headlight bulbs ? Easy or hard

Hi I bought some h7 led as a replacement for the halogens on my car which I find horrible to see out some days. How hard is it to change them and is their anyone based in the West Midlands who can ?

The low beams are very fiddly

You access them from a door in the wheel arch liner.

I actually took the wheel off when I last changed one so I could see what I was doing.

There's a bit of a knack, I think you have to pull them down and outwards or something like that. It is all explained in the manual though

If you put LEDs in you will have to code the car to not do bulb checks otherwise you'll constantly get errors on the dash

I know

Buy the bulbs THEN ask how to do it

Did you buy a car THEN learn how to drive? Why post something that makes you look dumb?

Lol It was a tongue in cheek post simply aimed at the type of person you clearly are. Comparable to making a comment like “it’s only a matter of time before they crash” towards a reckless dangerous driver.
Have a nice day

The ignore feature works wonders for dealing with the dullard from Liverpool.

It’s very tricky, I went to Halfrauds and they were good at it.

Yes it’s a pity you can’t access them from the top like you can with the full beam and parking/side lights. I changed a parking light bulb the other day in a minute or so.

what a dullard and how naïve you are that a forum 'handle doesn't necessarily signify cultural roots.

If you need an explanation for any long words or anything more than 2 syllables let me know

Tbh. It’s not that difficult. I dud it on my last f30 which had the standard halogens, when I upgraded to higher output bulbs.

If I recall right with the halogens there’s a simple screw cap accessible from the top of the car. Takes about 10 mins or so

Hope that helps.

Finally changed them

As the bulbs I bought were just sitting , I thought let's change them and see. Big difference straight away brighter than halogens.

Check the beam pattern (scatter) with the LED bulbs , i recently fitted a set to my Subaru and although the light was much brighter the spread of the beam was all over the place causing oncoming cars to flash thinking that i was on constant high beam.

I removed them yesterday and refitted higher spec halogen bulbs.

Maybe the BM headlights are more forgiving to the LED bulbs but the older projector headlights in the Scooby are certainly not.
