Question Picus, I need your expert opinion.

I need your expert opinion, oh wise one....
I live in Ottawa,ON.
I use my bimmer for daily driving. As a result, my bimmer is taking the beating from the harsh elements of nature such as rock chips, tree saps, etc.
I include photos here. Do you think I should get the hood detailed or should I get it repainted?
A local auto detailer here recommend that I get the hood repainted.
Is there a good auto detailer around my area?
Thank You.

Not thread jacking but those marks don't look like they came from mother nature but some mother f*@ker! ...unless you literally park on/under a tree branch that sways in the breeze all over your car.

Picus will guide you in the right direction, he is one of the jedi masters of detailing.

Angry Mother nature -> mother f*@ker!

No from you.
I agree here. It was not mother nature.
Although I parked under a tree branch and it was windy and breeze all over my car.
Well, I discovered all scratches when I woke up. Very royally pissed.
If the jedi council here agrees; I'd like to learn the zen of detailing from the jedi master.

Not sure how deep those are but those were definitely caused by a hater. I suggest having picus taking a look at them in person. That way he can see if they aren't too deep and can perhaps be wet sanded out by him.

Cool Players and haters

Yeah, I will probably drive to Toronto just to get some sort of assessments from the Master Jedi Picus or better if there is someone in Ottawa so I don't have to drive four hours to GTA or repaint the hood.

Thank you for all your inputs. I like this forum that offers support and information. No group hug please

Sorry I didn't know that you were that far from picus, however I think having him detail your car would be money well spent. The one that might be too deep is the one going across in the last picture, but it's hard to tell from a photo. Good luck hope it all works out for you!

Get it detailed by someone that know what they are doing. Avoid a repaint at all costs.

You can try Fari in Ottawa, someone else recommend him.
I didn't get any work done, but he seemed like he knew what he was doing.

As much as I'd love for you to come to TO, I am going to save you the trip. Here is the guy to go to in Ottawa: http://www.parkavenuedetailing.com/

I *think* there is a scratch there that I see that probably won't come out entirely, however I think a good detailer can make that hood look 95% better with some touch up paint, sandpaper, compounding and patience.

If you go to Paul let him know GTA in Detail sent ya!

No matter what you do, please post pics of the "after" results. We are all curious to see how it goes and it will also help spread the word about whoever you decide to use for future people in your shoes and area.
