2a79 Code please help 23psi custom tune

Hey guys, has following mods and 80k on the clock
2012 335is
Dual cone intake, G-plus intercooler, Arm Downpipes, VTTO inlets, Arm chargepipe walbro 450

car starts to studder from 1.5k rpm to 4.5k rpm under load and past 5k rpm car runs smooth under load. car is custom tuned by pmw.e90 i wouldn’t recommend him as he just ignores my questions when i ask him to help me diagnose. but that’s besides the point because i ran a different tune that hits 19psi and car still does the same thing, only code i have is 2A79 Variable valve timing control, intake cold start. and i can’t find much about it online. car runs fine on mhd stage 2+ but you try upping the boost and this happens.
So far tried cleaning out both vanos solenoids
Lpfp swapped
LPFP swapped walbro 450 high preasure version
and brand bew index 12 injectors coded
please help i’m dumping money left and right and nothing is helping.
sparkplugs are white when i take them out and they are the oem plugs 3 prong.
a theory that i had was, could the stock heat range be causing preigniton therefore pre igniting the fuel mixture?

Yes - you can get away with cleaning the filters.

The Vanos actuators - round thing size of your palm attached to the cam shafts. You would need timing tools for replacing that ...

Did you check the bearing ledge ?

I was hoping it was a smaller problem? i haven’t taken the valve cover off? and this would cause this leaning condition? and why does it only do it under higher boost conditions aka 19psi+

Is it really worth modifying the boost clocks on e90? Engine does a good job, but I still wanted some more rpms. So there are 2 options for- either get a fng boost or swap it with smth else.\
