Just an FYI

I recently purchased a 2007 335i really cheap that had a multitude of problems, the few things that I couldn't find an answer for were no audio, idrive controller didn't work, and a passenger airbag fault. All the search results from multiple forums didn't help me fix the problem, after a lot of troubleshooting I found a corroded plug in the driver (left) floorboard under the carpet left side that was badly corroded with pins broken, I cut the plug off and soldered the wires together and that fixed all my problems. It is a small plug with 5 or 6 wires.

Yes that's the one, there was water in the floorboard causing the corrosion.

This Thread was Cross-posted to Bimmerfest, and here is link with more discussion (but OP has NOT confessed there YET ;-):

I just noticed this thread on this Forum @ ~ 8:15 PM -- Honest "TunafishE93"

MY "Guess" is that your "guess" was MORE than a "guess". Care to share your secret (which obviously has something to do with TIS).

No I was trying to figure out where those wires go.. Didn't see the other thread.. I will give credit where credit due.. I did find some weird stuff in the wiring diagrams though.. They have pins makes 7 and 8 but say it's only a 6 pin connector...
And mine was posted before the other forum .. So what's your secret?

X1716 or X9331?

The following post by "ehale50" and Reply by me with 2 questions were posted on Bimmerfest:

Thanks for the Reply. Just two questions:

1) Do you remember if the Connector (a) was "flat & wide" & had all the sockets/pins in ONE row, like the Connector View of X1716 shown in the first link, or (b) was more "square" & had two rows of sockets/pins, like the Connector View of X9331 shown in the second link?

2) Do you remember if the Connector/splice point was on the flat/horizontal Floor of the footwell like X9331 in the Installation Location linked below, or on the more vertical transition to the firewall, like X1716?

Thanks for any reply, as I realize you would like to do other things. I'm just trying to understand the electrical system.
