I found with my 6MT that I averaged around 19MPG for around-town driving, much better on the highway.
I also tended to target around 2000rpm for just noodling about, shifting around 2700 ish. Now that I'm in an automatic, I see that I'm getting around 23MPG for the same driving style and roads, and it seems to target about 1600RPM, with shifts near 2100 when i'm not pushing it. Was I shifting too high? What do your numbers look like?

I find that my shift points are also about 2000rpm on my 6MT under normal driving conditions. Since moving to Nashville in December, I find that my mpg has gone up slightly to 22.8.

When warming the car up I usually shift under 2000 and when cruising around suburban areas 3000 (6AT with xHP stage 3). When out in the country I usually shift around 6500 lol
My mpg is terrible though, somewhere in the low teens on average |

In my 6 speed 330i, i get around 23ish in city and around 27ish on highways. I shift around 2.5 average. Sometimes during long trips when I had filled with 93 Octane, it gave around 32 mpg with average speed of ~80 mpg.
