My Extended Warranty expires in 2 months. Should I take it to a shop?

Typically the warranty is supposed to cover any parts that fail. But has anyone taken their car to the shop before the warranty expired to get some last minute repairs done?

The warranty covers everything the original oem warranty covers except wear and tear items like tires, brakes, clutch, electronics, body work, etc.

So far I haven't gotten my money's worth. Had about 1K in repairs and it cost around 2300.

Are you having any issues of any kind? If so, I would bring it in and hope that they do the usual inspection with the written report. I would not tell them beforehand that your warranty is about to expire or they might accidentally miss a potential issue.

No issues except a pulsing tire noise at low speeds (25mph). This is an extended 3rd party warranty so i'd go to an indy shop.

Take it to a dealer, explain what you want, and see what they say. Remember, they make money on warranty work. Just not as much as when you pay yourself.

Or just ask for the equivalent of a pre-purchase inspection, and have them fix whatever they come up with, except wear items.

Any benefit of going to the dealer opposed to an indy shop?

You're ahead with the dealer, as you can't just go up to the dealer and say fix this, they'll want to do an inspection, but if they find it themselves, they almost have to fix it.

I assume you're currently using the dealer, as you're still in warranty. What you're asking is perfectly legal and moral. You're asking them to inspect and fix what needs to be fixed.

The factory warranty is long gone. I've been using indy shops since I have a 3rd party warranty. Dealer will just be more expensive imo. If I find a good BMW specializing indy shop they should be able to do a thorough inspection.

On my last two cars at the end of the cpo, I said the A/C does not seem to get as cold as it use to and to check it.
The bmw had low Freon, but they could not find a leak. I think I paid $50 for Freon.
The ml350 had a small hole, fixed it for free.

Dogg, you didn't say you had a third party warranty, which changes everything, as not there's no reason to go to the dealer.
