Who has fitted m3 control arms to their e92???
Fitted m3 control arms around 2 months ago and poly bushed radius arms but I am now having an issue with a knock from steering rack. Put a new rack on the car around a month ago and knock disappeared but now it's coming back ever so slightly. Mine is a 2011 lci with the electric rack and I am wondering if this might be my issue the electric racks are soft and can't take the harder bushes and arms???

Has far as I'm aware all 3 steering options for E9X (standard, Servotronic and Active steering) are all hydraulic systems.
Unless other markets have something that I haven't heard of yet |

After some quick research it looks like a few models in euro countries got electric steering. learn something every day
I'd post in some euro sub forums as you'll get more bites there; Most countries didnt get anything but hydraulic. |

Most LCIs in Europe at least have the fully electric rack; no oil...you're right there, OP.
Knowing what the internals of that rack are like, I wouldn't be surprised if it's not up to the strain of the harder bushings and joints; it'll really be hammered by the impact, where a hydraulic rack would shrug it off. That said, I can't qualify that opinion with anything, so there could well be something else. |

Sounds unlikely then... Check on realoem and see if the part number for your rack is used on any F cars?
I bet it's possible for you to transplant in a hydraulic setup though...would doubtless be an absolute mission. Before you jack it all in, definitely check all joints and bolts in the front end - sway bar too. |

Yeah, I bet. Slow cars are better than broken cars!
I'm a bit gutted for you really. I've got m3 arms waiting to go onto mine which I'm pretty excited about - I know I'd not be happy if it doesn't work out! I've got an M3 hydraulic rack lined up for mine too though... |
