Is this springy thing part of my car?

I found this a while back I think it came out of a door pannel when I took it off or when I took of the puddle light at the bottom of it or it was just on the floor of my car, it was right when I got the car. I just found the part again in my glove box while cleaning stuff out, and before I discard it I just wanted to check if anyone knows if this is part of the car or not?
