i'm parting out an e93 and i want to know how to remove the convertible hardtop. any info is helpful.

A cheery picker and some strong straps. Have to remove the trunk assembly first.

There's a few on ebay with pictures of the mounting points. Or you can just post like this one where someone local comes and pulls, saves you the hassle.
