Oxidation on oil cooler, how to get off?
My car was sitting this winter outside under a cover, i didn’t intend it to so i never really winterized it like i would have. I opened my hood today to charge my battery and my oil cooler had what looked like corrosion on it like your battery terminals get, some of my alternator did too.
I was pretty surprised. Does anyone know why this would happen? I did get my car detailed right before it sat and i know the detailer did some of the engine bay. Could it be from something he used? Either way is there a best way to get it off? Otherwise I’ll just scrub it. |

Does it look sort of like white spots? I'm not sure exactly what causes it, but you can get it off really well with a wire wheel. It'll get nice and shiny.
I did discover that if you spray engine detailer on it while it's warm, it'll corrode again (or stain or something, I dunno what it is) - so don't do that |
