Exclamation Need Help ASAP - tapping into fuse

I'm hardwiring my radar detector to the fuse box.. The fuse box is in the worst location I've seen in my life but thats besides the point. Anyhow I want the detector to go on and off with the ignition, like I had on my A4. I was told in another thread to tap into the homelink fuse. I bought this from radio shack, which I have used before.
http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...entPage=search

The problem is the homelink fuse is a much smaller fuse than this is designed for. How do people "tap into" a small fuse such as the homelink fuse. I tried using this on bigger fuses in empty slots, and its still too narrow for this. I tried in the bigger fuse slots with just this, no fuse, and I can get it to fit. In the empty sockets, the "-" terminal will always be on no matter what, and the "+" is dead (both with and without ignition on).

Can someone please advice me how to tap into a small fuse, or some slot to put the positive terminal in. The negative terminal I have anchored to the light silver torx bolt to the left of the fuse box, thats a solid connection.

Thanks ahead of time, I really want to get this done while its light out and the fuse box is a pain in the ass to see and get to... The little card to the fuse box is awful as well.

Thanks,
Josh

On the fuse card, it's the one with the picture of the little house with an arrow in it. If this still doesn't help, I can grab my fuse card and give you a number...

Good luck

This will show you and help you locate the homelink fuse. (third from right side in the second row of fuses)

Yup, exactly where I was hoping he would look. What was the number though, 28, 35?? Something like that.. Too lazy to take apart my glove compartment again to look at the fuse card..

Thanks guys. After I posted I did a little more in-depth search and came across the same pics. Thanks again for your help.

I'm off to buy a fuse tap for my V1 install!
