turbo wastegate rattle, question

Hi. I own a 2007 N54 335i. My wastegates rattle from to time and I'm debating whether to keep running the OEM turbos for +years, or to finally replace them.

My question: Should I search to buy OEM Mitsubishi turbos? Or are there other reliable turbos to consider buying. Single vs twin turbos

I've read threads that all current OEM Mitsubishi turbos are rebuilt. Even from the dealership. Thank you for your comments in advance. I'm learning as I go

I don't know if you have posted this in the N54 exhaust forum?

I would do a manual adjustment of the wastegate bolt 2 1/2 turns, on the rear turbo. You will need a 4.5 & 5mm mini open ended wrench.

For the front turbo you need to add two no. 8 glued together, washers in between the housing & turbo to the upper & lower wastegate housing bolts.

There are DIYs for both above.

In MHD, you can use a software fix to close the wastegates should the manual adjustments not quite do the job.

Personally, I would not buy Mitsubishi (OEM) turbos. I think, one would be back in the same boat in a matter of time.

I'd probably buy remanufactured turbos from Rob Beck, which have upgraded wastegates that a far, far less likely to fail.
