Cracking/squeak noise around my drivers side window.

Suddenly I’m having this slight crackling, and squeak around my E90 328i driver side window frame. It’s intermittent, but annoying. I read Teflon tape around the window trim, or lubricating the area will solve it. Anyone have success getting rid of the squeak and crackle? Thanks

I’m hoping to get it fixed, once our country is back on its feet. It’s annoying.

Mine kind of squeaks going over bumps. Im assuming its rubbing against the frame where the moleskin portion has worn down. If I open it up even slightly (still closed but not up hard against the frame) it stops.

What do you open up, and what is rubbing on the frame? Thanks.

Its the window to the inside of the frame. If you roll the window all the way down and look up into the slot where the window locks in when closed you can see some velvet material, Im thinking that was there to quiet it and now its worn allowing the window to squeak on the underlying plastic. Just hitting the down button for a split second, just enough to break the seal, stops the noise, so its likely that.

In my case just cleaning out the slot and cleaning that part of the window really well quiets it, so I never looked into replacing that part of the seal.

Thank you. Fingers crossed that’s the remedy. I’m hoping this is the issue.

I haven’t gone out in sometime, due to this pandemic. I’m going to see if I lower the window, the noise persist. I hate squeaks, and rattling noise when I drive. My radio is usually off when I’m driving. I take that time to relax, and want quietness. Thank you again.

On two of my cars, not BMW's, I've had small cracks in the internal door sheet metal. Wedge the window so it can't move, and if the noise persists, you may have cracks.
