Adaptive headlight issue

The passenger side headlight of my E90 keeps getting knocked out of place from potholes in MN. When this happens it won't auto level and I'm stuck with one "lazy eye". I've put it back in place several times now, but wondering if I'm missing something because it keeps happening. Tired of taking off the wheel and fender liner to do this annoying fix.

In the pictures I'm showing the 2 visible connection points I'm aware of that are for manually adjusting the light position. I know its brittle plastic, but nothing appears to be broken and there are no plastic pieces bouncing around in the headlight assembly. When I position the light it seems to swivle/pivot fine and adjust without issue until it's inevitably knocked out of place from a bump. Am I missing something? Is there another bracket or something in the area I'm pointing to in the picture that might not be connected properly or is broken? I know there are many posts about this "lazy eye" problem, but I couldn't find one with a pic or diagram of the not visible part of the light. Thank you.

once it pops it never stays in.

my guess is that it's broken on the front part of the socket where you can't see it.
that's where mine was broken.
find a new headlamp.

Yeah that's what I figured. Appreciate the reply.

Headlights are insanely expensive so I'll probably just deal with it unless one pops up locally at a you pull it parts place. Hoping to sell and buy a newer car soon anyways.

I scored a used and working headlamp for $150 on faceballs from a guy parting a car, so they're out there.

Yeah, keep an eye out on fleabay or even craigslist - I found some that had scratches on the lens, or one missing tab, that would sell for $150-$250.
