Racechip tuning M135i

Hi guys, though I'd share my first real mod, I installed a racechip GTS black that I was using on my previous F30 320d.

Installation was easy took me about 30mins and I got to test it last weekend. I am getting better fuel economy + power even on sport mode 👍 my current setup: RC - Eco, Car - Comfort/Sport.

How does the car feel with and without the racechip tune?

So I got the racechip with the phone app which means I can change tuning modes on the fly. I tested acceleration feel with the car in sport mode while the racechip settings were in eco mode and then off/stock. The acceleration runs were done in 3rd and the car pulled stronger with the racechip turned on.

I am yet to try RC in sport or race but looking forward to testing that sometime soon. The car is pretty fast in stock as you would probably know and the roads here are small so a little extra power is more than enough!

Currently the car feels smoother to drive with the RC on, acceleration and pickup are really smooth in both comfort and sport mode.

Is this a sensor attachment mate? or something to do with the ECU?

Yes its a sensor attachment. Basically plug and play and it works by giving your computer revised figures for the sensors mentioned above which ends up with a tuned map giving the car more power.

The good thing about it is that your ecu remains factory and if you uninstall the device your car is back to normal. You can also turn the tune off and drive the car as normal whenever you like.

The video below takes you through how the tune was done.

Agreed I think its more than enough. I have also heard that if you get an exhaust fitted, they can send you an updated maps via the app

Mate, your MPG? When in Sport and the software is running, are you driving hard? or just out and about? Just trying to get as much info on this box as possible.
32.3 in Sport is good!

I think I was on and off in terms of driving hard, if you look at the graph.. I was probably pushing when the graph was at it's lowest point. The rest must have been cruising in traffic.

Driving on these same roads with similar driving style, I'd say thempghas improved. I thinkI was averaging 26mpg before installing the RC.

☹ oh sad. You might need to look at other tuners. This seems like something easy enough to code most tuners are offering it.

I think so yes. DMS website says possible options but chap says he's getting it done.

I asked him to tag me when he posts some videos up. I'll let you guys know.

BTW I'm cp_cp_cp_cp on Instagram if folks are on there. Nothing but car pics and the odd fitness thing from me
