M8C at Thunderhill 3-Mile (video + photo)
I haven't posted for a while. Here's a vid from a private session @ T-Hill from some time earlier.
Running 800hp @ 96 octane setup, stiffer rear sway bar, tires are S007A, 285/35/R20 front 295/35/R20 rear, camber & stuff. Lap 3 was the quickest that day, Lap 4 has some nice footage of me running off the track. Can do better/faster with late braking and lines. Hopefully I'll be back there in July... P.S. The middle finger goes to all BMW haters, of course :-) Last edited by DRA; 05-05-2020 at 08:50 PM.. |

Nice job on the track--I was watching some of the lines you chose and I'm guessing you've been around that track before. |

The colors indeed look close, but I can actually tell the difference by looking at your photo above. For me it feels like your color (Frozen Dark Grey) has a bit more texture to it.

Nice video OP!!! How did the M8 compare to the NSX (assuming thats yours too)?
I currently have an NSX (not replacing) but considering the M8 to replace my F90 M5.

NSX is my friend's. We do track days together and we go pretty much neck to neck in terms of lap times.
But, these are very different cars. I've driven NSX of course and my take is that while the mid-engine configuration gives you an incredible sense of stability and takes you through the curves faster, the sense of the front end and also the 4WD of BMW give you more precise control. You can really play with the car on the edge of the grip vs. NSX that can surprise you once it starts sliding. On the track with NSX it is more of traditional smooth approach, you need to carry some speed through the turns; with M8 it is more of point'n'shoot and powerslide on the exit. |
