How long are you planning to keep your E90?
Just curious on how long members are planning on keeping their E90.
Right now, I'm planning on keeping mine for two years then replacing it with a coupe or maybe an M3/M4. |

I may do the exact same thing, but may keep mine for 3 years or so and get a preowned E90 M3 (let another person take the initial depreciation hit). |

4 years on the e90 3series then moving to the 5series... to finally die with a smile in an hypotethic M7...
That said it might be a good thing to switch from brand to another one... just to be aware of the competion's jewels... the brands I love are Audi and BMW... |

i had my 320i e36 for its life cycle, my current 323i e46 see its 6.5 years life cycle before it is traded in for my 325i e90 and i intend on keeping my e90 for its life cycle all being well. i don't need to keep changing my car any more frequently.

Our '98 323is came to us loaded with everything we could find apart from an auto transmission. It now has over 135K miles and is just as delightful as it was 7+ years ago. Feels like a new car, looks like a new car and gives great pleasure. A key to the long term satisfaction was to add all the options, so we never say "if only we had included xyz". We'll probably keep it until it is about 10 years old, by which stage it will also have provided very cost-effective BMW motoring.
Based on this experience, our E90 has been heavily optioned up and we plan to keep it about 10 years too.

My current plan is to keep this car for the E90 life cycle... As JFK said, the key was to get all of the options (except steptronic). But who knows, if the coupe or M version become irresistible, I may consider trading this car in earlier than that.

Well, my 5 yo is saving his money for either a BMW or "slug-bug" so I guess we're in for the long haul. But then when we bought the Caravan (predecessor to 325) I got all the extended warranty I could because we were keeping that for a long time. It was a good 3 years . . .

I would like to hold on to this car for at least 4 years. I take very good care of my cars, so I could easily use this as a daily driver for many years to come. Then I would just add another car for the weekends.
Within 3-4 years, I'm thinking maybe a Porsche 997TT

Depends. I initially said 3-4 years , but if career goes well and fuel prices come down , then after 2 years I'm gonna get a 330.
The only other car I would consider is that new Lexus IS350. |
