Both my new car and catch can are on the way. With this video DYI, install should be a snap! Thanks for posting it up.

Awesome DIY!

I just installed my catch can last weekend! Removing the OEM tube from the left side fitting (4:00 in the video) was a pain! That step alone took me 20 minutes...hahah

I was really surprised by how much oil I found in the OEM tube and fittings, and my car is only a few thousand miles old! That made me really glad I bought the catch can!

Yea this product is a must for all N54s. That fitting is a pain in the rear sometimes. Thats why we made the video to help explain better. Sorry we didn't have it up when you did your install!

Did mine today. All in all, a pretty easy install. The hardest part was finding the socket after I dropped it into the engine. It fell under the block but above the subframe. My brother spent 20 min with his hand in there from behind the wheel while I was using a stick from above pushing it over.... PITA!!!

Though, I did find one nice tip: I was having a hard time pulling the fitting off the end of the blow-by tube. To make it easier, I boiled a cup of water and submerged the tube in it. Once it was hot and the plastic was soft I could pull the fitting right off. Just make sure to grab the plastic with a towel. It gets pretty hot too!

Well I was bored and decided to take out the blow by tube and take off its fittings while waiting for my RR catch can to arrive early next week! DIY was fantastic and shows very detailed instructions on what to do....The connection thats held on by the clip is tricky for sure! A tip I followed that one of the OPs that posted earlier was, once the blow by tube is off and the connector on the right needs to be pulled off, you should submerge it in boiling hot water for a minute and then take it out with a towel in hand and have someone help you pull...It comes off with very little force...The rest is gravy and should be easy! Now the wait for the delivery of the actual can!! One note: I have 5000 miles on my car and I noticed oil throughout the blow by tube, its not alot but its there! I am sure glad that I will have this installed on my car soon!
