Had a flat MICHELIN® PILOT® SPORT 4 S
Hi guys,
My 2 month old 2020 M340i x drive had a flat and the tire shop has installed MICHELIN PILOT SPORT 4 S 225/40ZR19 instead of the original 225/40R19 for the driver front. Should I be concerned with the mis matching tire model? Thanks! |

If possible you should always match tires exactly. In this case the speed rating (ZR) is higher than the OEM tire so you probably wouldn't notice any difference in performance. That being said I would ask the shop if they can match the Z rated tire.

If you paid for the tyre, they should give you exactly what you ask for. If it was part of a tyre insurance package, they have the right to give you either exactly what is on your car or the tyre closest to that (I believe it’s in the fine print).
