X3 M40i - 3k RPM speedo binnacle rattle

When accelerating and hitting 3k, and at certain speeds it seems there is a vibration/rattle behind the speedo or that area. The car has had a new windscreen, however this only seems to be prevalent since the increase in weather temperature.

I never have the climate on more than 18 and it's usually on 16/17, and the vibration/rattle happens then the cabin is cooled by the A/C - so I don't know if it is a heat thing.

Car is a mid 2019 model

Hi, I had a very similar rattle to yours and I was convinced it was coming from the speedo area. However, I found it was from the plastic surround behind the rear view mirror. I pushed the plastic firmly towards the windscreen and the rattle stopped.

It's surely ice rattling at those temps settings.

If you keep the car at constant 3k rpm the rattle persists?

Shit like this drives me cray. I usually end up meticulously trying to find out exactly how to reproduce and then start touching stuff to see if it stops. Case in point I had one from the overhead light cluster, drove me mad. Video it (which was key to showing BMW). IN my case they replace it and whilst the rattle is diminished is still there. Unless I drive along pushing the light cluster slightly with my paw :-|

Post a video? Don't let the 5-0 see you though ;-)

I will try and video it tomorrow. It seems there is a constant rattle when driving at certain speeds - lets see how the video goes 🙄

Ok, had it into bmw as couldn't record it. There was a panel near where your knees are that was slightly loose. Driven it a few times now and all seems quiet so far!

I was in for a week getting that and the seat sorted.

I had the same issue and it turned out to be the front speaker cover. Linked some instructions which are similar to our G01.
