Thanks so much. Any idea when BMW will begin taking orders for MY2021 X7s? When will the pricing sheet be available? Thanks again.

Not a fan of the cutbacks. You can make a 20 a hell of a lot nicer than you can a 21.

I am assuming that this will be a software update, possibly rear sensors/proximity sensors would be disabled/limited.

I hope it's an update and I wish you could geo it so I can leave my car in the garage unlocked.

I hope so, because that issue is a bit annoying. First world problems I guess....

IMO a number of the discontinued options are directly related to actual builds that skip these options. If I order a new X7 I would pass on Ambient Air, Offroad Package, Night Vision, and Rear Seat Entertainment. And most 40i buyers would rarely if ever option the Bowers and Wilkins sound system anyway.

TBH, I am glad I have the 2019 model.

I love my ambient air with ionization, full merino leather, and my night vision.

The fact that you can't get those anymore... ouch.

Dumbest thing ever as I was waiting to order a 21 in hopes they would ADD laser lights to the 40i. Instead they remove a bunch and add limits to others. Wonder if there is still time to order a 20?

They appear to have had some supply issues for some of these items. I had wanted to order a 2020 newbuild with the merino leather but they said it would've added 10 weeks to the delivery timeline. As it was, they were saying it's a 2-3 month wait already (using the standard black vernasca leather).

Same here. The whole idea of the options is to have options. I love the RES and the B&W sound and look, as far as I know many people here have also ordered these.

It's like saying if I order an X7 I would skip Alpina X7...

You are certainly right about that. But a limited number of options also has its risks. I know for sure that features like the RES or night-vision or the full leather were deciding factors why I picked this vehicle over another one. We all know that the majority of these options are also 'overpriced' and therefore, even if only a limited number of customers pick them, were still profitable. I have a feeling that COVID had a major impact on these decisions because taking options off their luxury model is not really 'BMW-like'.

I would also like to know why BMW is still offering full leather, night-vision and the RES on the Aplina XB7 for MY21. Is it more likely that these options will be picked on that vehicle and not on a M50i? I don't know...

Can you please confirm where you got this info from about these options not being offered for MY21?

I have called the SAs I know in several of the dealers in my area (and I have a lot of them in the Baltimore/DC area) and they all told me they have not heard anything about BMW not offering these options on the X7 for MY21. Specially, the RES. I was told that BMWNA has been contemplating the future of the Night Vision option, since not a lot of people get it. But a lot of the other options they haven't heard a peep about canceling them. Especially RES.

The odd thing is that BMW has these options offered on the MY21 7 series and the Alpina X7. Really weird they would remove it from the regular MY21 X7

I can confirm that the above information is correct. Lots of stuff left off for 2021. I'm going to try to get a slot for 2020 yet. We'll see if it pans out. I should know tomorrow. If not, I'll probably wait for the LQ to show it's face.

BTW full merino leather is available for 2021, but not in all the colors. If you want ivory, you can only get blue/ivory combo. Dumb.

Confirm how? Could you please provide some concrete factual documentation to backup these changes? Do you have a MY21 pricing/ordering document that lists these options and changes that you can post here?

Thanks mitch57.

Factual documentation/confirmation would be great. A serious decision (at least for me) needs to be made if these deletions are true for MY21. I would have to really push my purchase timeline up and try to scramble and order a MY20 now. That would be months ahead of my original/preferred plan.

So please provide any proof u may have of this so we can truly make a factual and informed decision. It would be greatly appreciated.

Well that sucks. You're telling me the newer model fully loaded is worse than the previous year I was going to pull the trigger on the 2021 M50i but I feel like they may have lost that sale . I thought they would also have worked out the black wheel issue as well for 2021 but I don't see any update on that either.
