Give the people what they want!

Apple really gets their fan base so is Porsche!

I really dont get those controversial designs, i still find the X7 hideous.
I saw the 2 series i couldnt believe it, the car it replces is just an all around better car!

The new G20 looks good. There's nothing bold about copying what Audi or Lexus have been doing in the last few years with their big grills!

Why cant we have the next M3/M4 with subtle, classy looks like the G20?
Most M cars owners are into the M2 type design and none of that nonsense like giant grills etc.

A good compromise would be the giant grills on the 4 series and retaining the G20 grills on the M cars.

And inevitably 10 years from now there will be people praising the design and complaining at the then new model, just like what happened with the bangle era cars.

Get over it.

Bangle vs the classic E30

Those trying too hard designs get old!

Funny how you used a mediocre picture of a bangle car with a scraped bumper vs a professional photo of a pristine e30 with aftermarket wheels.

I think the Z looks nice.

I'm at the acceptance stage of grief on the grill. At this point I'm just sitting back and looking forward to watching their sales burn like a Minnesota riot.

BMW will learn when they their profits are down from styling disasters and supporting oppressive emissions regulations. Have fun with that BMW.

What do you mean by that? Complying to regulations? Lobbying for more strict regulations? Something else?

Front is ugly but rear end, it’s as if they ran out of budget and hired some high school kids to finish it off.

recent big grills ll never be a classic like in new 2..
its not esthetically proportioned, all classic cars are well proportioned.. even E65 has some unique character..

And that's fine, maybe make the G82 with the oversized grills and the G80 with the G20 grills.

I like the E30 better, give people a choice!

A lot of people aren't into those goofy designs!

I'm briefly responding to your question, but the forum wants discussions on auto industry regulations kept over in the politics forum. In an effort to respect this goal let's all not elaborate here.

BMW-Ford-Honda-Volkswagen support oppressive emissions regulations that I find extremely unattractive from an automotive enthusiast's perspective.

If we are listing our demands, I want an M-wagon with a manual.

They're replacing the DCT with a slushbox, how much this thing is going to weight?
The E36 M3 had an optional slushbox and it was a disaster.

M-DCT and ZF AT are within a few kilos of each other so weight isn’t a significant downgrade with the AT. Manual/paddle shift feel though is and possibly less retained momentum on full throttle upshifts. Not sure how much that matters if it accelerates a lot quicker.

Some added stop and go civility is likely welcome for some as a give and take. I’ll need to drive it before I hate on it. It’s not going to be comparable to a slush box of the E36 era though, that is for certain

We don’t know. No weight is leaked. If I recall right the F90 M5 is lighter than the F10 M5 even if it changed to ZF AT AND added AWD. granted the F10 is a porker and BMW worked harder on keeping the weight of the F8X in check so less low hanging fruit but again we don’t know.

Agree, I am actually someone who liked a fair amount of Bangle products, however the E63 6-series, along with the Pre-LCI E65 7er, were never one of them.

The people don't know what they want. I remember all the articles that dismissed the iPod, iPhone, and iPad. If you ask the people what they want you get something like Homermobile.

Great designers, product managers, and market researchers are able to understand what people actually need and want and then give it to them.

Maybe they hired someone from Fiverr to do it.

That is indeed a hideously ugly car

After the E65, E63 etc., BMW got Bangle on a short leash, a lot of products under Bangle went back to mainstream BMW's.
