After nearly a year and a half of ownership and patiently checking for software upgrades in iDrive settings almost daily, I finally received my first OTA upgrade on 6/8/20. I had previously been running 11/2019.40 and received a (minor) update to 11/2019.70. The process was straightforward and intuitive; photos of the process in iDrive and the iOS CD app are attached.

To trigger the update, I checked for available upgrades in iDrive settings. When I was notified one was available, I proceeded to download it via iDrive and kept my iPhone nearby to improve the download speed. The download took about 15 minutes, then the installation (which required the car to be parked with the engine off) took another 20 minutes. I haven't noticed any changes between the old and new 11/2019 versions; I suspect this was just a stability update more than anything.

There is an existing thread here and others added USA stories to a thread about OTA outside USA in the primary forum:

Would you mind sharing your MY and whether you have a 50i/M50i or 40i? I don't think I've seen any 40i in the US getting OTA yet.

Finally a MY19 40i! Yours was purchased earlier than mine in May. I also have 07/2019.55 so older than your previous version. It seems BMW is on limited OTA turn on.

Got my OTA just now. 2020 M50i purchased in January. I've also noticed added functionality to the connected app while in the car. Full disclosure, I'm never on the app while I'm in the car. It seems now under the "Remote" tab in the app I have another sub menu for connected command. I can control the radio, climate, etc from the app.

Mine is a July 2019 build, and the car has the firmware update the car got as part of the recall.

I was just notified OTA that the upgrade is available.

My M5.0i Updated this afternoon...

I received a note on my new 2020 X5 M5.0i that there was an update. I was on 11/2019.55 and after the update have 11.2019.70.

The update went fairly easily (but still harder than the updates on my Tesla Model X where it's seamless). After the first restart I had a few error notifications (something about lights and automated driving errors), but after an engine stop and restart they went away.

I did note that even though I don't have a "real" M that the requirement on the iPhone app for the car to cool down and then restart (accessory, not engine) was required for the "upload/preparing update" to the car to go past 9%. I waited and waited the first time but it wouldn't budge. So I turned the car off and came back in 15 minutes. After starting the car (but not the engine) it continued thru the process.

Mine prompted yesterday to upgrade from 11/2019.50 to 11/2019/70. It is upgrading now as I type. First update, collected the car 3/12/20.

I have the same version, 40i M sport built in May 2019. It seems you and others are not in BMW's naughty list . Still no OTA for me

Are you talking about "Android Auto"? If so, I believe Android Auto isn't scheduled to get released until the 07/2020.xx update which would be sometime next month. However, I also saw some talk about it being postponed another month or two.
