Clicking from automatic transmission when stopped in drive

This is for my 2015 F31 wagon.

Heard a faint but noticeable clicking sound, over and above the usual direct injection noise while waiting in the drive through. Putting the car in park, from drive, made the noise go away, putting it back in drive resumed the noise. Presumably this means it is transmission related. The car has 62,000 miles on it.

I could see this being some kind of element of the cooling system disengaging when car is in park and re-engaging in D. It is in the 90's today.
