Paint defect, is this claimable?

My G01 30d is 1 year old now and in my ownership since December. After washing the car today noticed the blemish in picture on the bonnet, not quite sure how I've not noticed it before. There is no damage at all to the clear coat that I can feel so it must be a defect in either the clear coat or base coat.

do you think BMW would cover this under the paint warranty?

Cheers, Tony

If the clear coat is intact, definitely warranty covered.

I wouldn't do anything with that! Silver is terribly difficult to match
Tiny blemish vs mitmatched panel...easy decision

That seems pretty insignificant. I wouldn't bother with trying to get it fixed even if it was under warranty.

I've got so many small chips due to the soft paint on these X3s than I ever care to admit. This is the one vehicle I wish I had forked over the cost to get it covered in something like XPEL.

Agreed; hindsight is 20/20. Would have done that as well, had I known.

It would be insane to refinish OEM paint for such a small defect.

The car is 1 year old, you are the second owner and noticed this for the first time after 6 months? Do not bring this is for warranty work unless you have really thick skin.
