Question Electronic experts: How to safely isolate a problem in an engine wiring harness?

Hey all,

I have a thread in NA engines (https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1730971) , but it is an electronic issue and need some direction in how to isolate a failure in an engine wiring harness without pulling it all apart. Up to now, I've mapped every pin/wire/connector in the circuits I suspect and need to move on to testing it but my expertise is limited to just checking voltages & resistance with a multimeter.

Could some of you electronic wizards take a look and give me some pointers on how to methodically and safely isolate this without making it worse?

Thank you!
