M40i spec questions

Hi. Thinking of trading up to M40i. I have questions regarding accessories for those that have them:

1) I understand if I get a spare donut tire, you will lose the capability to store the cargo cover in the hidden compartment. Is this true?

2) Having the factory oem trailer hitch, the kick open trunk will not function. Is this true?

3) Does anyone have the glacier silver with mocha or cognac interior? I'm curious about the color combo. I've not seen this combo at any dealers.

Thanks for your help.

1) Yes, you will have less space

2) I don't know

3) I don't have glacier silver but I have the blue with cognac interior and love. If you were to go with cognac, I recommend that you get protective coating applied to it.

I have the Silver and Cognac, previously had a Titanium Silver 335 convertible with saddle which I got tons of compliments on. Actually the X3 is my wife’s and its not here now so no picture. Glacier Silver is my favorite color and I tend to not ever get black interiors. Cognac is outstanding if your not into dull interiors. Also have the spare donut because we got non run flat tires but I have never actually looked under the weather-tech cover I bought.

#1 and #2 are true. I have the Mocha interior, but with the dark graphite color... I really like it but would probably go black interior with the glacier silver.

I’ve got glacier silver with Tartufo Merino...I agonised over Cognac vs Tartufo. Most combos work though red interior is more critical to match imo.

My understanding is that the spare tire in the X3 raises the load floor by 3 inches, personally I do not like the look. Weird thing is that apparently it does not raise the floor in the X4.

Ya, the X4 is slightly wider with a slightly different rear suspension setup. The small difference leaves enough room for the spare to be mounted so that the floor is slightly raised, but still flush with the hatch opening.

I’m 67 and my wife and I have bought many leather sofa’s and couches through the years, dark reds, browns and several different oyster/cream colored ones but never a black couch. What is the fascination with black leather interiors? I tend to avoid black because its hot, boring, shows dirt and not what I would ever buy for my house. 17 BMW’s and only a few with black interiors and only because they came off a lot.

Well said! It’s car dealers wanting uniformity for an easy life. I’m 3 years younger and have never chosen a black interior.

Went with mocha. I'd encourage you to look at interiors in person. I liked cognac online but in person the hue was much more orange, I didn't like it.

I want to thank you all for your inputs and opinions.
I agree to many of your opinions and it was a tough choice.
I decided with
1) A spare tire kit bc will be changing to non rft;
2) Factory hitch bc I found the rear kick sensor very sensitive, especially on my commuter X1. It opens sometimes if I walk to the back by accident.
3) Exterior color still silver but decided either mocha or black with blue stitching. Cognac is a bit orange after seeing it a non X3. Interior color is a tough choice.

Question: Is BMW USA offering loyalty credit rebate and finance rebate credit?
Thanks
