Fitment question
What tires can i run without rubbing with wheels that are 19x8.5 +40? Looking at going on 225/40 because of stock suspension. Let me know if I can go wider tire. Will also plan on lowering the car but not for a while. I am not looking to run spacers or roll my fenders. I also want a square setup.
EDIT: *Wheels are on the car wrapped in 245/35 R19 tires. NO rubbing and zero issues! The rear has a little bit of camber but still looks great!* see the wheels on my instagram @1slof30 Last edited by Boznien; 07-17-2020 at 12:36 PM.. |

If so your new setup 19x8.5 +40 will sit exactly the same as your stock setup, less than 0.5mm more poke. You're faaaar from rubbing, you could run as big as a tire as you want on that wheel without rubbing. I'd suggest at least 245/40/18 |

Having x-drive doesn't change anything. Just make sure your wheel and tire sizing is the same on each corner (square setup) |

Yeah will do. I was thinking of running 235/35 R19 tires all around. My only problem is i dont wanna rub on the suspension or fenderliner. The +40 offset really fucked me here.

You can run 245/255/265 and still have zero issues. There's people running much more aggressive setups than me and still don't rub either. The car can handle much more than you think |

Let say you have 400m 18x8 et34 replace with 19x8.5 et40... that +6 which means the wheel will sink closer to the suspension and away from the fender then there is the .5 inch additional width of the wheel. I'm sorry I think you should use a 5mm spacer up front. Get it more flush and away from the suspension. |

on 19x8.5 +40, OP should run 235/40/19, 245/35/19, or 255/35/19. the inside tire wall and shoulder of 255/35/19 will be close to the front spring perch and strut at +40, but i think it will clear by a few mm. the other sizes no problem however your wheels and tires will looked tucked and even moreso after you lower it. you'll have to use spacers to correct the appearance ADDED here is 18x9 +42 with 255/40/18 (26" diameter), no rub spring perch or strut https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...ght=255+square 255/35/19 has a wider tread width than 255/40/18(26"), thus broader shoulders. +40 is probably the highest offset you can go with 255/35/19 but it also depends on the brand/model of tire. Falkens run wider than the rest and would probably rub the spring perch/strut where others should not. Last edited by alohasurftoad; 06-26-2020 at 11:10 PM.. |
