Hi all! I've been looking at 3/4 series for a while now and since the used market near me is literal trash (most has shotty service history, structural damage, or failed PPI's) I decided to go for a new 430i Xdrive! After soooo many failed attempts at getting a BMW I finally got one of my dreams that's optioned how I want. I've been in a pretty dark place for the past month because my father passed away and It felt like my world ended but before he passed him and I stopped by our local BMW dealer to look at cars and he saw an Estoril Blue Metallic 430i Coupe that he immediately fell in love with and he WANTED me to get that car but sadly it sold the next day and he passed a couple days after that. So I made it my life goal to find a car with those exact options and color combo and I finally found one and purchased it, so every time I step foot into this car it immediately reminds me of my father and how giddy he was when saw the other one....Well thats enough of my personal life but I absolutely LOVE the car and it's features (it's pretty loaded). I wouldn't have even thought about looking at a 430i if it wasn't for my dad so all of my excitement and happiness is geared towards him.

These are dealer photos so don't go off on me for the quality lol. Finally glad to be a owner! Can't wait to contribute to the forum more!!!

Planning on getting tints done, probably changing the wheels,getting rid of those orange side marker lights and adding a rear lip spoiler that's all for now.

Looks amazing! The Altima has 5% all around and a sunstrip on the windshield and it's too dark for me, I cannot see out the rear window at night and if it wasn't for the back up camera, blind spot and rear cross traffic I would've already hit someone or something...it's a tragedy at night to drive but since I like the look and the privacy aspect I've continued to put up with it, the tint is so dark that even during the daytime it looks like the sun is setting until you roll the windows down or open the sunroof lol. My brother has 15% all around on his Mercedes and comparing that to my 5% Altima it's a night and day difference as far as night time visibility and you still get the privacy (I'm not going anything illegal in my car it's just that I eat like a pig lol and randomly dance to my music and id just rather NOT see myself on twitter as a meme plus I'm such an idiot that I randomly leave my MacBook in the passenger seat sometimes and I'd rather not have it stolen). Overall tints are needed like immediately because I feel like I'm driving a fish bowl around.

He said it would be dark. He recommended 35% like all my previous cars he’s done. My house is on a dark street. No lights. People like to walk their dogs at night so I need to open my window when I leave my driveway. Driving at night is fine if people learn how to turn their headlights on.

Condolences, congrats, and welcome! Great looking spec on your new car! You mentioned eating like a pig; if you can avoid it, I'd recommend trying not to eat in your car. Keeping those beautiful seats clean will be a challenge!

Properly storing any valuables out of sight is a good habit to form regardless. If your MacBook is in your front seat, it would still be visible through the windshield, that I assume you wouldn't be tinting.

Enjoy your new car! I'm sure your dad would've been proud and the fact that it's an homage to his memory is awesome.

Oh, I'm not going to go crazy with the mods. I like more of a stock look with some minor enhancements. After the things listed I most likely won't be doing anything else (I probably won't even touch the wheels).

People always ask me how I mange to keep such a toned body with my eating habits lol. I'm trying to establish the no eating rule in the new car, I'm really weary about the white leather getting stained by my clothing (90% of the time I'm wearing blue jeans). Trying to find some pretty good leather wipes that will keep the leather in tip top shape (especially the rear seats since that's where I throw my books, backpack and things for college). And on top of trying to keep the leather in good shape I'm going to have to just hope that nobody decides to dent/ding my car in the campus parking lot since the spots are rather tight and most people have older cars that they don't care about and will THROW their door into the car next to them (my altima has at least 10 dents on each side).

As far as being smarter about where I place my valuables I need to work on it a ton. Only going with a sunstrip on the windshield again.

I will enjoy it!! This car is literally for him, I miss him a ton but he would want me to enjoy my car and my life and that's what I'm doing!!

Thank you! I wasn't really happy with any of the used 3/4 series I was looking at because they weren't really optioned the exact way I wanted but I'm totally in love with this car because it's optioned the way I want and also because it's brand new...lol

Wait till you become aware of various suspension improvement options for your car. :-). Ignorance is truly bliss and so kind to your wallet.
