Odor Elimination and Ozone
Long story short... There was a valve cover gasket leak in our F30 couple years ago. Dealer fixed, but left a smell in the car... First I thought they just cleaned with solvents and would pass in couple weeks, but it never went away.
Today, I decided to use engine cleaner (Gunk), and focused the spray on the lower part of the engine more on the splash shield, kind of expecting some old residue left of oil or engine cleaner could be the "root cause". Also this afternoon I saw the attached video, mentioning the ozone generator being used to get rid of bad smell. Questions: -Any of the forum members have experience with ozone generator to eliminate odors in car? Is it efficient? -Any recommendations for ozone generator 12Volts? I saw some cheaper ones in Ebay, and I was thinking about the old "you get what you pay for". For this reason looking for recommendations. Thanks! |

I run a detailing business and we use an ozone generator quite often. They really work and get rid of most smells in the car.
https://amzn.to/3i133Fd That is the one we use and have great experience with. Run it in 15 min increments depending on how bad the smell is. After it has run, open all the doors and windows and air it out for a little bit. The car will have a "unique" smell afterwards but your odors should be gone. Also, don't breathe in afterwards Let me know if you have any other questions

Thanks Sean. The generator price you suggested is also good.

yup, we love it. I think we have been using it for about 2-3 years now and it has held up fine as well.
Customers are amazed at the smells this thing can get rid of. Best of luck and hope it solves your issue.
