Not sure if your insult is towards the pigs or the Chinese but both seem a little harsh when it's just that some scientists in China have found a flu virus in some pigs that could transfer to humans.

I think they do need to clean up the animal husbandry for their sake and ours. I know some of it is cultural but it really needs to change.

Maybe, but I don’t think even good hygiene can protect you from viruses spreading from a pig to humans. Plenty of farmers in the U.K. get close to their animals, and they certainly don’t wear PPE against viruses when they are doing so.
