22PLE Ceramic Coating

Anyone used/uses this Ceramic Coating?

Starting to look at options for upcoming new X3. I had been set on Cquartz 3.0, but a local detailer claims 22PLE is much better- although my caveat is that he seems to be one of a handful of suppliers in the UK. he claims it's huge in the US and the the coating of choice for most- which is not my experience on here or YouTube.

Any thoughts?

I live in the states and I've never heard of 22PLE. Tread carefully the market is flowing with wannabes.

22PLE is junk. I would not want or need it even if it was half the cost of ceramic. I would then just get a regular wax. lol. 9H ceramic coating is what you want.

Thanks suby, I already had doubts as very little on you tube.

C Quartz 3.0 is good stuff. If they are a certified detailer with C Quartz they will have one step higher grade of ceramic coating for commercial use. Any ceramic coating is essentially a good choice, the main thing is how the vehicle is prepped and how well it is applied. Obviously you need to get your paint as perfect as possible before ceramic.

I've noticed this with various detail shops/ceramic coats. Why is that? Why can'y you or I get the "good(?)" stuff?

Just found this--and a local Finest Reserve detailer. Sounds more like a weekend treat.

C Quartz is really good at the idea of branding and pretending to have different levels of the coating. At the end of the day the same coating on the car is possible with any of them that have silica and titanium dioxide in the proper levels. Some with a higher concentration might coat faster or with less coats then cheaper ones. But it's a GREAT way to make money to put "finest reserve" on a bottle you want to sell for more. I used Armor Shield IX. No gimmicks of different versions and it works great. Granted I did it myself and took the time to prep. At the end of the day using what most any shop sells will likely work fine, but the cheaper stuff might not last as long. I'm now at about 1 year in and it's still great and obvious the car is coated.

C Quartz finest reserve is specifically for certified commercial detailers. It is different than the standard C Quartz 3.0. 3.0 itself is a very good product but is usually meant to be done by the owner or someone not certified. Reserve is used for best commercial results and usually take advantage of using heat lamps to cure it faster afterwards. I'm also sure there's some other positives as well.

Marketing propaganda, nothing more. The question is what concentration of the molecules the solution contains. The higher that is the faster the coat will "take". That's it. They'll "sell" you a million reasons otherwise, but its marketing doing what marketing does. Don't be a sheep.

It's not propaganda...

There are several products on the market that are exclusive to certified dealers/installers of that product

Reserve is a different formulation of ceramic and also has higher Si02 content than the consumer product. It is also an entire process that includes applying the Reserve coating. They paint correct, compound and polish paint to a C Quartz standard to ensure everything is as perfect as can be. They also provide warranty on it. The detailers also have been certified by C Quartz to do this work.

Just because it has a different name on the bottle doesn't mean it's just a gimmick to make more money. Do your research next time...

Exactly, the video is worth a watch for anyone considering spending several hundred pounds/dollars.
