Too good to be true?
I've been searching for a 2016 340 for the past 2 months and know what it should be worth based off the km/miles and packages. I've been communicating with a salesman for 3 weeks now and he said that he could find me a car through bmw internal auctions based on the certain features I wanted on the car and if I like it I can buy it. I did have to put down a 500$ deposit. He called me in today and showed me the carfax as well and honestly I did not believe it because of the price.
$33 000 CAD 5800 km $24 300 USD 3600 miles (only premium essential package and honestly I don't need the rest) I honestly did not believe that it could be so low but he said no this is the price for me. I did sign for it already because I'm still going to get it checked anyway but it's an amazing deal that I still wonder how it is so. He said it was a lease return and the owner was a chinese businessman that travelled back and forth often from china. I thought I would get some opinions on this before purchase anyway. Thanks! |

So a 2016 340i for $24,300 with only 3600 miles?? Do you mean 36000 miles? Clean Carfax? Which BMW auction location is this one located at? Something doesn't add up right.

BMW arbitrated buy back?? Ask for Service History...
Edit: Also, I'd be H I G H L Y suspicious of anyone referred to as a "Chinese Business Man" traveling back and forth from China... .

I doubt he would make the same mistake on both km and miles. Be careful of flood damage. Is this a Bmw salesmen? We need more info.

Yes it's a BMW dealership and one with a good reputation as well but even then I am still shocked at the price. It is either a crazy amazing deal or something is definitely up but because of the reputation I'm not sure what to think either lol

That is way too good to be true!!!...but again...like you said, get it checked with an indy mechanic, and ask for service records...since its a lease return, they should have them!

Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. You seem to be doing everything right. Make sure it’s equipped the way you want it and no water damage. |

I, like many others here, are more shocked at the low mileage for a 5 year car (assuming built in late 2015). Seems real sketch. If the mileage were in the 30-40k where it should be, I could see the price being reasonable due to the car having basically no packages. M-sport package is the big one missing that I think really depreciates the price of the resale value.

Sounds like you found one heck of a deal if you're really dealing with a reputation BMW dealership as you said. Is there any warranty left? Are they gonna CPO the car since it has such low mileage?

He did add a 1500 powertrain warranty. So here is another part to the story, Bmw had a promo going on that ended yesterday for lowere interest. So he said by adding it it would make the car CPO and 1.99% and to get the deal it must be CPO and without the powertrain it would be regular and 7% so I went with that one. We didn't discuss any other warranties but since we are on that topic to the readers, at this km would you reccommend getting any warranties and fyi I most likely will be going BM3

He didn't mention anything about factory warranty and I already assumed it didn't have anyway. It's auto and awd. Honestly at the end of this sale if after my mechanic checks it and turns about to be safe and sound then the bar has been raised for too good to be true deals haha |

Is it a clean title? They might try to pull the salvaged title out as a last-minute thing after you already get mostly through the paperwork (been there).
