Eco Pro - Driving Style Analysis

What do you guys think of the above, in the past I have never used it, but having time on my hands due to Covid-19 and unable to go more than 5 miles from home for essential journeys I picked up the Handbook and had a good read.

Is it useful, is it rubbish, or is it a BMW gimmick, your thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I use it from time to time. The efficiency really depends on your driving style. Probably the best way to use it is on highway. There was also a suggestion to use it together with the shifter put the to left for better experience (having the coasting together with better shifting). Never tried.

For my 2018 Xdrive30i, it has a performance reflash tune which also increases the fuel economy in Eco mode. I roughly average about 35-38 MPG on the highway with cruise control on and in Eco Pro mode.

For my 2019 M40i, it also has a performance reflash tune which slightly increase fuel economy in Eco mode. I roughly average 30-33 MPG on the highway with cruise control on and in Eco Pro mode.

Here is my fuel consumption from north NJ to Washington DC and back home. Round trip, I wasted almost 3/4 tank of gasoline. I broke 38.8 MPG the entire trip.

I know this photo is terrible but it was I was driving back home from VA to NJ after buying the M40i (completely stock). I nailed 32.2 MPG in ECO Pro mode and cruise control on.
