This sounds nuts i have to say, but had my 2019 440i in for EML on and faults in 3 systems, full firmware/software updates done and CEL is off for now, BUT i now have a strange noise coming out of the air vents that sounds like slight gearbox whine, changes as you slowly accelerate, i know it isn't that but it sounds like it, it does go away when i turn the fan off fully, it in NO WAY did it this morning or at any time before this workshop visit, any ideas, i would rather not have to drop it off again if its something i can sort myself.

I got my belt tensioner replaced for something similar to this
