Me too.

Anytime now a dozen people who don’t like it will be along to mock our sense of good taste.

The 4 series is great looking apart from the grilles. Where the bumper line transects the grilles there should be bumper. Small grilles above and a larger grille below. Would look awesome. But this. Absolutely awful. Ugly, ugly, ugly. And who thought the outline shape was a good idea?

I think the front end makes it BMW's worst design in years (with the exception of some of their SUV's, which I've never liked) but I'm sure it will handle well, and better than its predecessor. I'm certainly not mocking anyone who likes it - etto, as we always say.

As long as you always park nose in, against a wall & get someone else to wash it then you'll never see that pig awful front.

Can't believe they think it's a good design line to follow. Just because the Chinese market loves a massive grill, do they think everyone else does too?

Come back Chris Bangle. All is forgiven.

Looking forward to seeing one in the flesh.
That dark blue grey colour looks classy

I actually like the new front. Gives a bigger change for the new gen car. More of a statement. Looking for a GC M440i version and I'm in.

Nooo. Removing the bumper allows us to get a great view of all the interesting engineering like crash protection structures rather than the usual boring sculpted bodywork.

I want one too. Already had conversations with local dealer and will be in the showroom to look at one in the flesh when they land.

Personally I like the new design. It looks fresh and edgy. Let's face it, if new models looked like the old one, no one would ever buy a new car (and that stands for every manufacturer)

Grasp the change - it's happening chaps. If you don't like it, fair doos, vote with your feet and go buy something else.

Don't agree. It's hideous. So hideous, that I'll never buy a BMW again. Same goes for the Golf Mk8. Droopy and hideous, the latter.

Will be an interesting option further down the line.

Maybe in G80 guise and Isle of Man green though.

The Alpineweiss in the video looked good. I see someone is waiting on the GC. Is that get off yet?

I like it too.

Like I said in another post, if they (BMW) do something safe everyone says it's boring and dull. Try something new and push the barriers and everyone hates it and says they will never buy a BMW again. And then they calm down and end up buying one!

But on a road car there's going to a number plate which will presumably split the large grilles where you're saying a bumper should be; obviously it won't look exactly like a bumper but perhaps the grilles will look less pronounced once a number plate's fitted?

In any event the over-size grilles wouldn't be a deal breaker for me; generally I think the car looks good and, as it will also presumably drive at least as well as the G20/G21, it will make for a very nice daily driver!

It’s miles better looking than the C Class Coupé which is stubby and out of proportion, and the A5 is just old now, and no space inside, so no good for me anyway.

And I don’t like it despite the front, I wouldn’t change it, I think it looks good.

At a quick glance on the configurator the M440i, like the M340i, comes only with run flats for the UK market?

Also, if I read correctly, despite a list price of almost £54k things like electric memory seats - which used to be standard on the E92 335i and (I think) the F32 440i - have now been relegated to the options list? Might be other things that have been made standard to compensate though - haven't looked that closely as I won't be in the market for a new car for several years!

The 797Ms don't mention rft so not sure. It would be a shame if that's the only option as the 4S is far better than any run flat.

Regarding options, I can't get the price below £59k without sacrificing something I consider essential, but of course we all know they won't be selling at that price.

Garage List
Very conservative colour choices for the 440i - black, grey, white or blue.
