How loud is your waterpump?

Did the bleed procedure, but did not get the “sounds like a washing machine” noise. In fact, it was rather silent. I did see coolant getting squirted into the expansion tank though. Is a silent pump indicative of a bad water pump (no codes)?

Don't know, hope not, as mine was pretty quiet when I bled the system a week ago. I'm at 61k miles and I'm assuming it's original.

It's not super loud. They make some swishing and gurgling sounds, but it isn't going to be really loud, but definitely can hear it when doing the bleeding process.

Quiet sloshing and whirring. Wish it produces a happy chime when it is done the cycle like my LG washer.

How do you see coolant going in? The bleed procedure is supposed to be done with the cap on.

It should be quite noticeable when you run the bleeding procedure. Like an itty bitty motor.

If you are trying to hear a N52 water pump on the mean streets of NYC... good luck with that.

Same here. After replacing mine when I ran the cycle I could mainly just hear it when it switched direction, you could hear the cavitation when it sloshed but otherwise was "maybe I can hear it."

The sloshing would also be the air being pushed through the system. When I did the bleed procedure I could hear it the first few times it pushed coolant into the tank, but it was pretty quiet after that, and this was in an enclosed garage with no other noise.

As long as it's pushing coolant I don't think there is any issue.

Do you always post with two different usernames?

My new pump was a little loud after I first installed it....you could hear it a little bit with the motor off. But after a few weeks of it running, now it's pretty much silent.

If it's quite and you are seeing cooling coming from the return line back into the tank....you are in good shape

There seem to be a lot of guys on here with multiple usernames.....kind of odd.

I would think that any Admin would be able to recover a password for you.

I already did that. I bought a $50 pump on eBay, just because it was so cheap. I wanted to know how bad it was, but had no plans to use it. I also got a $5 thermostat (lol).

Actually, the pump looked really nice, so I left it on the shelf, and when my pump failed at 130k, I swapped it in. That was 3 years ago. The t-stat was junk though, I threw it in the trash and reused the original, because honestly I hate shitty plastic parts and it was (and is) still fine.

This was 5 years ago, I would have bought 4 if I had already known.
